Awhile back I heard about Little Black Bag but I avoided it like the plague. Recently, I caught a twitter from Chelsey over at The Girly Enthusiast that had her most recent LBB haul. I knew I shouldn’t have looked. I *knew* it but I did and now I am waiting for my own bag to show up. Thanks Chelsey! You enabler! 
While most people seem to be going for quantity, I am taking a slightly different approach.
The other day I was doing laundry and I came to a very sad realization. My wardrobe is dreadfully tiny! I took inventory and this is what I own:
- 7 pairs of blue jeans
- 1 pair of black jeans
- 1 skirt
- 3 casual dresses
- 5 casual tops
- 2 formal dresses
- 25 pairs of shoes
No wonder it feels like I am wearing the same thing every week. I AM! This simply will not do! So after talking with some of the ladies over at Makeuptalk, I reached out to Macy’s and Nordstroms to see if I could set up a meeting with a personal shopper/stylists. Macy’s, while super nice and helpful, informed me that their Austin locations currently do not have such a program.
Nordstrom’s however does! I spent a good hour talking to Crissy and went over some of my likes/dislikes and my goals. She was very easy to talk to and by the end of it, both of us were laughing pretty easily as I tried to explain my quirkiness. A major plus is she is also not a fan of the color pink or floral prints, so at least I won’t have to worry about that. I have an appointment to see her next Friday and will be bringing in some of my current outfits to get an idea if I am on the right track or not.
This is where Little Black Bag is going to come in handy. I am going to be using it to fill the gaps with my accessories. I have quite a few necklaces but no earrings to speak of. I have a few purses but only a couple that really make me happy so I see a huge purge in my future as I introduce pieces that I truly love and will work with my closet (current and future) as well as make me look and feel my best.
I am really looking forward to some of the changes in my future. A part of me is scared to death since this is all new territory but I think it will be a needed step in order to help me grow into the person I truly want to be.

Me too! I am really excited for my first bag to ship. I am fighting the urge to open a new one just yet though, so many cool items I want! But I don’t want to buy stuff for the sake of buying stuff too.
