Getting My Nose Pierced

I have always wanted a nose piercing. I think they are so cute and sexy. I kept telling myself once I lost enough weight, I would go get one. Been telling myself that for years now.

Last night, I finally said to hell with it. I have lost almost 200 pounds, when is enough going to be enough? So I went and did it!

Just a simple ball post for now. I’ll change it to a hoop in a couple months but I absolutely adore it.!

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner – Brown

Zoya Nailpolish Review – Marley

Marley can be best described as: Lightest baby lavender touched with a hint of gray-silver and a subtle pearl finish. A versatile, easy to apply and wear pastel shade that’s never chalky or harsh.

Color Family: Purples
Finish: Cream
Intensity: 4 ( 1=Sheer – 5=Opaque )
Tone: Cool
Original Collection: Intimate

Marley was my third choice in the Zoya promo and unfortunately, the first color from Zoya that I don’t like. How sad! I really thought I would love the light color but I think it would be better on a darker skin tone than I have. It’s my first experience with a creamy finish and it took some getting used to as far as application goes. It seemed thicker than I am used to applying and therefore, took me a couple of applications to get it right.

Zoya Nailpolish Review – Kaufda

Kaufda can be best described as: Shiny, warm molten copper with rich orange-red undertones and golden frost. A fitting shade to match the changing fall leaves.

Color Family: Browns
Finish: Metallic
Intensity: 3 ( 1=Sheer – 5=Opaque )
Tone: Warm
Original Collection: Classics

Kaufda was my second choice in the Zoya promo and it’s another bottle of happiness. I love the golden brown color and how it compliments my hands! Definitely took 2 full coats to get full coverage but the end result is a beautiful color with lots of richness.

Zoya Nailpolish Review – Hope

Hope can be best described as: Flashy medium violet-purple with frosty blue, red and silver colored shimmer. A rich regal shade fit for a queen.

Color Family: Purples
Finish: Metallic
Intensity: 4 ( 1=Sheer – 5=Opaque )
Tone: Cool
Original Collection: Classics

When Zoya announced their last promo, you know I jumped all over it. I have a long list of wants so I just went down the list and picked colors. Hope has been on that list for some time and I am so glad I ordered it. It is so incredibly beautiful! I love how it looks against  my skin! I had no problems getting it applied but it definitely took 2 full coats to get full coverage.

FOTD January 19, 2013 – Urban Decay and BFTE Cosmetics

BFTE Cosmetics had a sample sale last week so I jumped on it. I ordered Autumn, Chocolate, Big Ego, Seduction, Spice, Dirty Deals, Cloud 9 and Isis. I will be doing a swatch post here soon, I promise!

Today was the first day in a really long time I felt like putting make up on so decided to play with some of my recent purchases. First on was Urban Decay’s Primer portion and then Autumn (inner eye) blended with Chocolate (outer eye and crease). To complete the look, I used Urban Decay’s Black out (Naked Palette 2) as eye liner, Urban Decay’s Super Curling Mascara and Urban Decay’s Lip Junkie.

This was my first time playing with any of BFTE’s products and I have to say that my first impression is a positive one. Both shadows were easy to use and buildable. I was a little intimidated at first, my experience with loose powders are far and few between but I am looking forward to working with the rest of my purchases soon.

Zoya Nailpolish Review – Tess

Color Description of Zoya Nail Polish Tess according to Zoya.com

Zoya Nail Polish in Tess can be best described as: Metallic light plum rose with pink, bronze and mauve undertones and silver foil shimmer. A classic fall shade but with a fun foil-like finish.

Color Family: Reds

Finish: Metallic

Intensity: 5 ( 1=Sheer – 5=Opaque )

Tone: Cool

A friend sent this to me as a gift and I have to say, I really do like it. I am not one who likes pink so I am struggling with that a bit but I think for this color, I can get past it pretty quickly. It definitely took two coats to get the full opaque intensity but it was easy to work with and looks lovely.

Total Nail Transformation Challenge – Week Seven

The holidays are wrecking havoc with my blog writing! I am still living with my friend who had surgery, she has had a really rough go of it the past couple of days but we still have a positive outlook that things will be better soon. Because of this, I have kept my nails fairly cut back so as not to scratch her when I am changing dressings and the like.

Even with that though, my cuticles are looking nice and healthy, not hang nails to speak off and with the skin conditioning milk, my hands are always feeling nice and soft.

Total Nail Transformation Challenge – Week Six

This has not been a good week on my hands.

I have temporarily located to a friend’s house to take care of her while she recups from surgery. In my wonderful forgetfulness, I forgot my Tips for Toes nail care. Along with some clothes I needed. Cause I am just that good. :/

What a difference! My cuticles are looking pretty ragged. Thankfully I will be meeting up with my housemate this weekend to bring me everything I forgot and I can continue my challenge!

Total Nail Transformation Challenge – Week Five

The past week has been pretty brutal on my hands. Not only have I been doing alot of cooking and baking the past few days but I am also in the process of doing a pre-move purge. So my hands are either in constant contact with water or boxes. Even with that though, my hands still don’t look anywhere as bad as they have in the past. The Tips for Toes have kept my nails in check and the skin conditioning milk has kept my hands from feeling like sandpaper.

I did lose the length on my thumbnail this past week. If you look in the post from last week, you can see a crack forming which was caused by my own stupidity and slamming  my hand into the side of the bed. Fun times, let me tell you! But with the exception of that loss, my nails are growing back remarkably well, the skin is looking and feeling quite nice and I have noticed a considerable difference in the nail quality itself. My nails no longer bend and most importantly, they don’t peel constantly.

That alone is a win for me!!

Total Nail Transformation Challenge – Week Three

Not only have I noticed a good amount of growth this week but I have also noticed that my nails are feeling a good bit stronger. By the time I get to this length, I can usually bend my nails, they were that weak. Now, I get next to no movement from the nail itself. yay!!

I have also noticed my cuticles are responding much better this time around. Before, I would get hangnails like crazy, my cuticles constantly needing to be pushed back and trimmed. I haven’t had to do *anything* to my cuticles in the past three weeks. They have been quite healthy and behaving quite nicely!

You can still see the ridges in my thumbnails, those are quite pronounced, especially on the right hand but I am keeping an eye on it to see how t eh new growth responds. All in all though, I am quite pleased with the results and look forward to what develops throughout the rest of the challenge!!
